Be               sure               that               anyone               who               will               be               giving               your               child               food               realizes               this               before               you               entrust               them               with               your               child's               dietary               needs.
               Many               times               food               labels               contain               variations               of               names               (i.e.

sugar               is               also               glucose,               maltose,               sucrose,               etc.)               or               terms               in               their               lists               of               ingredients.

Do               the               background               research               and               make               sure               none               of               the               raw               materials               that               can               activate               your               child's               allergies               are               hidden               in               the               products               you               are               purchasing.

If               your               child               is               allergic               to               milk               products,               look               up               alternative               names               for               milk               on               food               labels.

If               you               child               is               allergic               to               wheat               do               the               same.
               Most               foods               contain               a               sentence               that               can               also               be               key               in               helping               your               child.

These               usually               say               something               like,               "processed               in               a               facility               that               also               processes               nuts."               Be               sure               to               check               any               products               you               are               purchasing               for               these               notes.

With               severe               allergies,               even               a               trace               element               can               be               dangerous.
               When               eating               out               at               an               unfamiliar               restaurant,               ask               what               ingredients               will               be               used               in               your               child's               meal.

Most               restaurants               use               at               least               partially               processed               foods,               so               the               information               will               be               readily               available               on               the               product's               source               box.

If               the               establishment               does               not               provide               you               with               the               needed               information,               avoid               eating               there.
               Your               child               will               always               have               to               sit               through               a               lunch               period               at               school,               and               whether               or               not               you               pack               your               child's               lunch,               the               school               dietician               should               always               know               about               your               child's               special               dietary               needs.

If               there               is               not               an               official               dietician,               speak               to               the               person               in               charge               of               the               school               cafeteria.
               If               your               child               has               a               food               allergy               that               requires               immediate               medication,               it               is               a               good               idea               to               make               sure               you               have               an               ample               supply.

You               should               always               have               a               dosage,               as               should               your               child's               school               and               any               other               place               they               will               be               spending               time               at               without               you               nearby.
               Should               your               child               require               a               shot               during               an               allergy               attack,               it               is               important               that               both               you               and               your               child               practice               administering               a               shot.

The               more               routine               the               practice               is,               the               less               likely               it               is               that               one               or               both               of               you               will               panic               and               waste               valuable               time               in               an               emergency               situation.

The               other               half               is               to               concentrate               heavily               on               finding               out               which               foods               your               child               can               have               and               which               they               cannot               and               making               sure               they               are               fully               aware.

The               last               thing               any               parent               wants               is               a               sick               child,               and               these               tips,               in               conjunction               with               advice               from               your               doctor,               can               help               your               child               stay               healthy               and               free               from               food               related               allergic               reactions.
